Vitestro is a Utrecht-based medical robotics company developing Aletta®, an autonomous robotic phlebotomy device that automates diagnostic blood collection. The device uses multimodal imaging and AI to locate veins and perform the draw without human intervention. Founded in 2017 by Toon Overbeeke and Brian Joseph, the company has CE marking for the European market and FDA De Novo authorisation in the United States. It works alongside hospitals and laboratories to address staffing shortages and preanalytical variability. The company closed a $70 million oversubscribed Series B in March 2026, with backing from Labcorp, Mayo Clinic and Sutter Health. Odense University Hospital has ordered devices, marking its first international deployment.
