Robotics Development Software & Tools · Founded 1998 · Private
Cyberbotics is a Swiss robotics software company, a spin-off from EPFL, that has developed and maintained the Webots robot simulator since 1998. Webots is an open source, multi-platform desktop application used to model, program and simulate robots, including mobile robots, industrial arms, drones and autonomous vehicles. The company also sells professional support tiers, custom simulation development, consulting and training for industrial and academic research projects. Its simulator is used across industry, education and research, and it runs the robotbenchmark.net programming challenges. Public reporting suggests a very small team of a few employees and a self-funded business, with no disclosed venture rounds beyond grant and prize money.
