Alta Ares is a Paris-based defence technology company founded in 2024. It builds an autonomous AI stack for air defence and ISTAR, combining interceptor drones, edge video intelligence software and a mission management layer. Its products include the Black Bird fixed-wing interceptor, the X-LOCK multirotor effector and Pixel Lock, an AI guidance system designed to work under jamming and in GNSS-denied environments. The ISTAR suite, Gamma, turns live drone and optronic feeds into detections on the platform, while Cyclops handles sensor fusion and UAV mission planning. The company sells to allied militaries and has active deployments across several theatres in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Partnerships include a Ukrainian interceptor drone maker and MBDA under a French DGA programme.
