Honeybee Robotics designs and builds robotic systems, actuators, drills and sample collection mechanisms for space and planetary exploration. Founded in 1983, it has delivered more than a thousand projects for government and industrial customers. The company is best known for Mars mission hardware and NASA work, and it has also served defence robotics, medical devices, mining, and utility infrastructure clients. Since January 2022 it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Origin, following earlier ownership by Ensign-Bickford Industries. Its US operations are centred in Longmont, Colorado, with additional sites in Altadena, California and Greenbelt, Maryland.
