Blue Water Autonomy

Boston, United States

Blue Water Autonomy is a Boston-based technology and shipbuilding company building highly producible unmanned ships for the U.S. Navy and commercial maritime operators. Its first platform, Liberty Class, is a 67.7-metre, 810-ton medium unmanned surface vessel built for 90-day autonomous missions. The company fuses sensing, fusion software and AI-enabled systems with steel, validating each subsystem through software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop and open-water testing before integration. Founded in 2024 by repeat founders and Navy veterans, including former Amazon Robotics and 6 River Systems leaders, the company has raised about $64 million. It has Navy R&D contracts and is preparing its first full-sized autonomous ship launch.
