Miso Robotics builds Flippy, an AI-powered robotic kitchen assistant that automates frying at commercial restaurants. The company was founded in 2016 by Caltech engineers and is now focused on commercial deployment of its fry station robot. Its newer platform, Zignyl (now branded Zippy by Miso), adds workforce intelligence, covering scheduling, forecasting and task tracking for restaurant teams. Together the products aim to form a complete kitchen operating system. Customers include White Castle, Jack In the Box and Auntie Anne's franchisees. The company runs an Innovation Lab in Los Angeles with partners such as NVIDIA, Ecolab and AWS.
