Intrinsic is an AI robotics software company that became an independent Alphabet company in 2021 and has since joined Google. It builds the Intrinsic platform, including Flowstate, a developer environment for building production-grade automation, and Intrinsic Core, an open source set of ROS-compatible capabilities for perception, motion planning and sensor-based control. The company aims to make robots easier to program and deploy for developers and businesses, with a focus on industrial and manufacturing applications. It works with partners such as Siemens, NVIDIA, Comau, FANUC and Universal Robots, and recently open-sourced a CNC machine tending reference solution. Intrinsic runs labs and offices in Mountain View, Munich and Singapore. Its funding history is hard to pin down: sources cite totals from about $128M to $130M, mostly from a $113M Series A in 2021, but the company is now part of Google.
