Waymo is Alphabet's autonomous driving company, building the Waymo Driver, a fully autonomous driving system combining lidar, cameras, radar, custom maps and AI. It is designed to operate without a human driver from pickup to destination. The company runs a fully driverless ride-hailing service, serving riders in a growing list of US cities as well as Tokyo and London testing. It reports over 20 million rides served and claims a markedly lower serious-injury crash rate than human drivers. Waymo has raised a $16 billion Series D in February 2026 at a $126 billion post-money valuation, led by Dragoneer, DST Global and Sequoia. Cumulative disclosed equity funding is roughly $27 billion, and it also secured a first $5 billion debt facility in October 2026.
