Yaskawa America is the North American arm of Yaskawa Electric, a long-established Japanese manufacturer of drives, servo systems, machine controllers and industrial robots. Its Motoman brand supplies articulated, SCARA, delta and miniature robots for factory automation. The company manufactures industrial robots, motion control products, AC drives and solar inverters, with robot production being expanded in Franklin, Wisconsin. Its customers span semiconductor, solar, machine tool, automotive, HVAC, pumping and oil and gas sectors. Yaskawa announced in 2025 a planned investment of at least $180 million and more than 700 jobs in Wisconsin, consolidating its Illinois and Wisconsin sites into a single campus. Its headquarters remains in Waukegan, Illinois, pending that move.
