Firestorm Labs builds xCell, a containerised expeditionary microfactory that 3D-prints and assembles modular unmanned aerial systems near the point of need. The company began as a drone maker before pivoting toward forward-deployed production for defence users. The firm combines open-source Dronecode architectures with industrial additive manufacturing, aiming to deliver affordable, mission-ready autonomy in contested environments where traditional supply chains are vulnerable. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Diego, Firestorm has won multiple US Department of Defence contracts. It closed an $82 million Series B in April 2026, bringing total disclosed funding to about $153 million.
