FarmWise
Salinas, United States
Agricultural Robotics · Founded 2016 · Acquired
FarmWise builds AI and computer vision weeding robots for agriculture. Its Vulcan precision implement is an intra-row weeder and cultivator that uses plant image capture and proprietary machine learning to remove weeds while leaving crops untouched. The machine self-calibrates, receives regular over-the-air software updates, and can cover up to 3 acres per hour. Growers can fine-tune weeding precision from the cab. The company was founded in 2016 and was acquired by Taylor Farms, a leafy greens grower and processor. Its earlier fleet of automated weeders worked across the Salinas Valley, covering around 25,000 acres of commercial weeding.
