EpiSci was a California-based developer of tactical artificial intelligence for unmanned systems, known for autonomous UAV swarms, AI-based signal detection and resilient tactical networks, much of it developed under DARPA-sponsored research. The company was acquired by Applied Intuition, which folded it into its defence business as a wholly-owned subsidiary. EpiSci's co-founders, including CEO Bo Ryu, joined Applied Intuition. The combined defence offering, now sold as Axion and Acuity, provides platform-agnostic autonomy software for land, air, sea, space and spectrum. Its customers are the U.S. and allied militaries.
