Our aim is to revolutionize the use of robotics within industry to free human resources from labor-intensive tasks to focus on more intellectual challenges.    As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will be a part of the Mujin R&D team, focusing on the algorithmic design, development, and deployment of computer vision applications for high-speed recognition. You will work directly with and expand on the world’s first 3D vision system for factory automation and logistics solutions.    Our computer vision algorithms are robust enough to run on 24/7 systems, handling thousands of items per customer, for diverse customers and applications. The challenges of enlarging its capabilities toward more autonomy, scalability, and diversity of applications mean you will never stop learning at Mujin.    Position Description:  • Solve cutting-edge scientific and technical challenges related to recognition and pose estimation of a very wide variety of objects in challenging scenarios  • Analyze and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms related to object detection and pose estimation, from both academic and industrial research, and implement and enhance them in a production environment  • Design, develop and evaluate the performance of highly scalable and accurate real-time computer vision applications in C++ and Python  • Perform detailed tests, carry out performance analysis on algorithms, and use continuous integration tools to finely enhance the rapidly deployed algorithms  • Manage the integration and deployment of Mujin’s vision systems at customer sites, involving direct client interactions and rapid problem solving    Position Requirements:  • Master's degree/Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in computer science, robotics, or related field, with 4+ years of combined computer vision focused research/internship/work experience providing exposure to the following:  • Developing applications and tools in C++ and Python  • Developing, implementing algorithms for 3D object detection, and recognition in various environments along with performing camera calibration to ensure precise measurements in image processing and analysis  • 3D and 6D pose estimation to determine the orientation and position of objects in space  • 3D reconstruction to build detailed models from images and point cloud data, enhancing the accuracy of object detection and scene understanding and process and analyzing point cloud data to create 3D models of environments or objects    Physical Demands/ Work Environment:   • Travel Requirement: 15-20% per year, primarily within the Continental United States and Canada, with occasional trips to other international destinations  • Work in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments   • Must be able to sit, stand, bend and lift to 20 lbs.   • Ability to work extended hours as required by project deliveries     Mujin is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
