A welder who joins, fabricates and repairs metal parts using hand-held MIG torches or robotic equipment, reading blueprints to position components correctly. Duties include checking finished parts against specifications and building skills to operate and program robotic welding systems for high-volume output. General factory tasks such as material handling are also expected.
