Medra builds autonomous robotic laboratories that run life science experiments end-to-end. Its Physical AI Scientist platform pairs general-purpose robots and instrument-agnostic agents with computer vision to execute protocols that scientists describe in plain English. A companion Scientific AI layer reasons over results, detects errors and optimises protocols in a closed loop. The flagship ML001 lab is in San Francisco, and the company works with Genentech and Cultivarium. Medra raised a $52 million Series A in December 2025, led by Human Capital, bringing total funding to roughly $63 million. The company is building a 38,000-square-foot autonomous lab in the Bay Area.
